Wooden Head Pizza. 192 Ontario Street Kingston Ontario Canada

This is the “BEST” Pizza. The Best…. ANYWHERE…….

i have been coming here for years. i can’t believe i hadn’t written a review yet. We wanted to have a group pizza party last week but could never get a reservation. finally on Monday we took a large group of 14 to a group dinner the night before I was leaving for the states.
We all started off with drinks, beers, salads, coconut shrimp, VooDoo shrimp, calamari. The next course was a variety of Wooden Head’s famously delicious fire oven pizzas. We had the dynamo(my favorite) , the Americana, the Nonna mela, the prosciutto, plain cheese, vegetarian.
After letting everyone sample all the flavors…… We weren’t done yet.

Now it’s time for dessert……..!!!!!!!!!!!

We love their desserts. All freshly made, most from the wood fire oven. So we started with the pear calzone, oven baked and covered with fresh cut strawberries and chocolate sauce. Next the apple pizza smothered with fresh cut apples drizzled with caramel sauce and granola like crispier,,,yum yum.. The chocolate lasagna was stacked chocolate mousse between crisp sugar wafers with fresh strawberries and fresh cream drizzled all over. And to finish we had the lemon tarts with lemon creme and fresh cream drizzle.
On a 5 scale…Wooden Heads is a TEN…
Our server , Katie, was extremely attentive and took very good care of our large group.
I highly recommend Wooden Heads Pizza to anyone visiting Kingston Ontario Canada. Unfortunately, there is only one. We keep asking the owner to franchise….. But not so far.

Now just to finish this off… I travel all over the world, eating delicious pizzas everywhere …… Italy- All over, New York, West coast(Round Table), Germany, France, …..none compare to Wooden Heads Pizza.

Enjoy…EH. !!!. Kb

Breakfast skillet w/ Italian sausage, sautéed potatoes, onions, tomato topped with melted cheddar and jack cheese, poached egg, toast. French toast w/ fresh strawberries and side of applewood smoked bacon. Everyone enjoyed their breakfast.

Boskos Trattoria & Pizzeria

After a day tasting wine and touring the Castello Di Amore in St. Helena, now we are hungry for Italian food….so we found a little little spot right downtown Calistoga. Warm and friendly staff got us started off right with a nice bottle of Chianti. Our friends Heather and Emery were with us and are dictating the review. Antipasto plate was as expected and very good as an appetizer, we also learned the difference between salami and sulami…you will have to ask or Google for yourselves. The Caesar salad was ‘pretty good’, needed more anchovy. The leafy house salad was tasty however the balsamic vinegarette was a bit strong.

For our main courses we had the “Positano”.. the baked salmon was crispy and just amazing, with nice grilled vegetables, polenta that could have used more cheese ( but what dish can’t't use more cheese). We also ordered the “Crispino” pizza. The cheese used was ??? Interesting, however was not described as ‘great’ !!! and the prosciutto was too thick. All over it was good.

For dessert we had the house cheesecake, the triple chocolate torte, the cannoli.
Everyone enjoyed the meal. Wait staff was very attentive.

Vito’s Trattoria 90 Skyport Dr. San Jose, Ca. 408-453-1000

I went to Vito’s with a long time friend a few months ago and had the Tortellini Carbonara. DELICIOUS,,,,,,,,, I returned tonight to try something else. We ordered drinks and they brought us fresh warm bread with a plate of olive oil and balsamic vinegar….yummmm. I ordered the Caesar Salad with anchovies for a starter. Very nice. My main course was the Vitello alla Picatta. It was so tender, it cut through like butter. The vegetables were perfectly steamed. My friend had the “Baseball”cut Top Sirloin with the peppercorn sauce. A mixed green salad with oil and vinegar, tortellini with marinara sauce and steamed vegetables.

We had an Apple crisp with vanilla gelato and a spumoni for dessert.

The atmosphere is pleasant, the wait staff extremely attentive. I highly recommend Vito’s Trattoria to anyone visiting San Jose, Ca.

My only issue is their sign out front on the street side. I’ve driven past this place for years and it reads: Vito’s New York Pizza and Trattoria.
Frankly, the location of the Restaurant around the other shops ,,, I always assumed it was just a pizza joint. I WAS WRONG …
This place ROCKS… It’s very elegant, great ambience, and fabulous service.

4480 Paradise Road Las Vegas, NV 702-364-5300

Four good friends were in Las Vegas at a convention and I took them to this fabulous Italian restaurant I was introduced to a few weeks ago. The place is located on Paradise across the street from The Hard Rock Cafe. The decor and the staff are excellent. We ordered a variety of appetizers , All of them delicious. The Bread was warm and tasty with the olive oil, balsamic and herbs blend. We had chilian sea bass garnished with shrimp, roasted potatoes, steamed vegetables, Risotto with lobster, veal picatta and fettuccine pomodoro con ricotta fresca. Everyone throughly enjoyed their meal. 5 Stars. Service was excellent. We were just too full for dessert but they looked delicious.
Great job to the chef and the whole kitchen staff !!!!!!!

Rollin Smoke Barbeque 3185 S. Highland Street Las Vegas, Nevada. 702-738-1729. Www.rollinsmokebarbeque.com

We were shopping at the Fashion Show off Las Vegas blvd and took the backstreets when we left and came across two big BBQ smokers sitting in a parking lot. We pulled a U turn and came back to try the “Q”. We entered and read through the menu, smelling the flavors as meat was carried inside from the smokers. Lee took our order and we sat and waited for our tasty treat to arrive. There were others eating and enjoying their ribs and pulled pork sandwiches, fries and cold drinks. It was over a hundred degrees outside, so sitting in the air conditioned room was nice. Lee brought a sampling of their Mac n Cheese which was delicious with out pulled pork sandwich. The pork was very moist and flavorful with a nice tangy sauce on a French bun. It’s hard to find actual “Smoked” meat these days. There is so much simulated smoke flavored stuff out there that was frozen, then heated up in Restaurants. This is the REAL McCoy …. Try them out next trip to Vegas. Get off the busy strip and try some back street local delightful food.

The Kitchen. 1530 16th. Street downtown Denver, Co. 80202. 303-623-3127

Ten of us embarked down 16th Street mall to our dinner reservation at “The Kitchen” restaurant. We were in town for a convention site survey and Trystin, our server, did an outstanding job. We ordered a variety of white & red wines, tried the smokey parsley margarita…(very good, but different) and of course mixed drinks. We ordered the Collio Pinot Gregio, red was Italian 2009 Vietti Langhe Nebbiolo . Our appetizer was the Grand Seafood Platter with lobster, oysters, chilled smoked mussels, littleneck clams & king crab legs. For salads we tried the Escarole salad, roasted organic beet salad, crispy pig ears, marinated white runner beans and peppers, The Kitchen Tomato soup, sourdough French bread with butter and coarse salt……… NO COMPLAINTS SO FAR. !!!!!!!!!

For dinner we had a variety of their menu, trying and sampling all the fare and passing plates so everyone could enjoy. Everything was Delicious….

For Dessert, we had the Sticky Toffee pudding with vanilla bean gelato , potde chocolate, lemon tart….yummmm very very very. Good.

Our only ,,,,, complaint,,,,,,, if we wished to call it that,,, was that the meal took almost 3 hours on a Thursday night in a half empty restaurant. We weren’t rushed for time and the restaurant didn’t need our table so they didn’t rush us out of the place. The service, wait staff, chefs & management were extremely attentive to group, keeping our water always filled, wine and drinks being served, and the food coming out of “THE KITCHEN”

And YES, We will be going back…..

One Word…………….. W O W !  ! !!

Two Words…………….. FOOD COMA…….  ! !   !! ! ! ! ! ! !

If you have never been to a Fogo De Chao Brazilian Steakhouse, starve yourself all day for the feast of your Life. Their salad bar is a meal in itself and delightful with over 30 different items.  When you turn over the “buttons” to GREEN….watch out for the Gaucho’s racing to your table. The tasty brasserie of roasted meats, sausage and poultry on a spit just keep coming non-stop till you tell them to halt.  All the sides and all the service are top notch. The bacon wrapped filet mignon is our favorite. This meat just melts in your mouth.
