China House Restaurant

20 Stone Pine Road Unit C  Half Moon Bay, Ca. 94019

While visiting the Half Moon Bay Area, we sampled a variety of eatery’s.  There are 3 Restaurants all next to each other. Thai, Chinese and Japanese.  For dinner we tried China House Restaurant.   To start we ordered a Green Onion Pancake with a pot of the house hot tea.  Next we ordered Combo Chow Mein, Beef Broccoli, Lemon Chicken and Honey Walnut Prawns.

The chow mein was slightly greasy but tasty. The Beef Broccoli presentation was nice, the broccoli was tender, yet crisp but the beef was quite tough. The Lemon Chicken was done perfectly. tender on the inside and crispy on the out. The lemon sauce was a little sweet but delicious.  The Honey Walnut Prawns were served hot and juicy. The coating was OK, but not my favorite.

All in all the food was edible and staff was friendly and served promptly.     3.5 stars

We’re in Hawaii for our anniversary and brought all our family and friends to Side Street Inn for dinner. I have been here many times and enjoy the place tremendously.
Tonight we started with the calamari, side style famous fried rice, traditional basil pesto crusted ahi filets, pan fried island pork chop, 12oz Sizzling rib eye steak, hoisin chicken, Kim chee.
All was delicious.
We ordered edamame with garlic and escargot. The edamame was over cooked, too mushy and the escargot was cheesy ,,, but weird.

We had the Lilikoi creme brûlée, Fried butter pound cake, brownie ala mode. All agreed dessert was really good.

This side street location has been remodeled and looks great. Lots of flat screen tv for sports.
5 stars…. Highly recommended for great food and a good time. a REAL LOCAL Favorite spot.  Check it out…

This is a landmark Chinese Restaurant in Chinatown San Francisco. It has been there since 1920. This is the only Chinese restaurant that still has private curtained booths. I started coming here in 1962. It has always been a favorite in the heart of Chinatown. You walk into a room of High ceilings, gorgeous orient chandeliers and century old oriental columns. The food is very traditional  chinese with a General taste. I Give it 3.5 stars

I have been eating here for over 20 years. The service and food is excellent. They cook to order so you can have it as mild or spicy as you wish. Our favorite is the  House fried rice, The basil Filets of fish and the Onion cakes. I travel all over the world and this is my  Favorite Chinese restaurant in the Bay area, including SF ChinaTown. !!!!!!   The staff is always friendly, the service great, all freshly cooked per order, and delicious. 5 stars
