Overlooking the beautiful 9 hole golf course and RV Parking (wih septic dump included) we sat and ate at the outdoor patio. With a waft of livestock and smokey campfire we enjoyed pre dinner bevies and apps of guac, chips and salsa, and joyful banter. Fine dining included brocolli, peas, asparagus and rice, pork filet sauted in a secret pork spices and broiled to tender perfection, Mario Bartoli spinach and sausage ravioli with his Cherry tomato marinara sauce all over it and romaine salad with lemon juice and 2 year aged parmesan grated cheese. The after dinner festivus consisted of bb gun target practice and a quick round of chip qnd putt wih the Top Cat (and heard it said that we don’t do birdies here- much to the cat’s dismay). As the twilight last gleemed, the chefs (yes there are two of them in the kitchen) made a gooey, but precisely layered combination of Nilla waffers, vanilla pudding, bananas –Cupcake wars eat your heart out!!

Mama Mia Ristorante Italiano   200 E Hamilton Ave   Campbell, CA 95008  (408) 379-3333

We came to Mama Mia’s on a Wednesday evening for dinner with friends. We ordered the evening special of beef stroganoff, Veal piccatta, and linguini Aglio Olio Supreme. Everyone loved their meal.

Our server Brendan was fabulous, except when he forgot to get our wines. LOL. LOL he was a good sport

We were too full for dessert but did look at the menu. Looked good

The wines were good also. Chianti, chardonnay, and zin

4 stars. We recommend you try Mama Mia’s.

It was a sleepy Monday in late November and We brought out of town friends from Chicago to see Monterey Bay, Cannery Row and the Wharf. We visited a few restaurants and hotels to sample the Monterey Bay cuisine. We went to the Sandbar & Grill for dinner. Started the meal with warm sour dough bread and butter, a bottle of Napa Cellars 2008 zinfandel and some deep fried calamari. We werent overly impressed with the breading on the calamari but the calamari itself was nice and tender. The Zin was not great but..average. Next we had a ceasar salad, cup of chowder, and the evening special of stuffed halibut with crab meat in a sherry creme sauce, with risotto and fresh green beans. Absolutely delicious.
We finished dinner with some lemoncello. Nice!!!!
Our server, Steve, was very attentive and very friendly.
Everyone had a great evening.

Embassy Suites Hotel. Seaside, Ca. Pacifica Cafe

We had a little time to kill and was looking for a quick local meal and did a web search. We ended up at the Pacifica Cafe for an early dinner be fore running off to see a show.
We ordered the calamari , that the menu said was with tempura, but showed up with a seasoned breading with jalapenos ????. We also had the lettuce wedge with the blue cheese. It was good but the blue cheese was a little weak.
For dinner we ordered one serving of the halibut. Our server had the chef split it on 2 plates so we both enjoyed it with the carrots, asparagus, and broccoli. Very tasty and the fish was nice and flaky.

Didn’t have time for dessert, but menu items looked good.

Was a sleepy Wednesday night in Monterey bay.
Enjoyed our last minute meal. Our server was very attentive .

We meet some friends here who wanted to try the place. It was a Friday Evening at 6PM. The place was 3/4 empty. The service was extremely SLOOOOW. Our Waitress continually screwed up our order…Drinks, and meal.  All of us  felt that there was NOTHING that would want to make us come back for a second time…NOTHING.  The Location is at Jack London Square, who is feeling the recession. The whole area was very light for a friday night.  It never got busy and we were there almost 2 hours….YEP, the service was THAT SLOOOW. The Food was …”"OK”" .  That’s about the BEST of it.  There is a Lot of History with this Business…. But current management needs to step it up a bit and make the staff and the premises More appealing.  The Chicken was good, but the Sweet Potato pie was…..AWFUL.   I’ve eaten a LOT of sweet potato pie and this was just plain AWFUL.   SORRY truth Hurts….

NOT AFFILIATED WITH ANY OTHER JOE’s…  so it says on the menu ! ! ! !   HAHA…

I’ve been going to “O J’s ”  in downtown San Jose for decades. It’s the best place to go for a Great late night Italian style home cooked meal, because they are open till 1AM.  Waiters are in Tux’s and Fresh Sourdough Bread & butter is served to your table. Everything is cooked to order so always hot and fresh. Great place to order breakfast at midnight.

The food speaks for itself.  There is a reason this place has been around for almost Six decades.  enuff Said…..      NOT cheap, But delicious…

Having been here numerous times, I have finally gotten around to writing a review. The food here is EXCELLENT….. Very FRESH…DELICIOUS… Everything on the menu is made fresh. Every time I’m in Chicago area I have dinner at Fresh Starts. There is a great wine selection to compliment your meal. Joann, who is the owner, personally selects the wines with Robert and her staff.

Fresh Starts has been located at 1040 Sterling for 25 years in Flossmoor Illinois.

For apps we had fresh bread, butter and roasted red pepper hummus, Thai chili shrimp, tomato basil with goat cheese soup, assorted salads.

Our dinner included Sticky Sweet with a little Heat slab ribs served with asian slaw and sweet potato planks,
Mojito Chicken Breast with black beans & rice, grilled poblano
Tilapia Fish Tacos, corn tortillas, adobo lime sauce, roasted poblano peppers, shredded lettuce and tomato
Cilantro pesto marinated grilled seafood: calamari, shrimp & scallops, blistered grape tomatoes, roasted poblano peppers.

Turtle gelato by Zarlengo… Voted #1 Ice Cream in Chicago.

Needless to say… Joann with her attentive staff make it a very enjoyable meal and a great time

Five stars. *****. /. 9.5 out of 10

A really nice restaurant at the end of LAX runway. You can sit and enjoy lunch or dinner watching the planes land almost a couple hundred feet away from you.
We ordered the fish n chips, all American Kobe burger with blue cheese, and grilled chicken sandwich. All came with fries or choice of sides. Service was fairly quick and all prepared elegantly. Looking around the room there were LA police officers, airline pilots and stewardess, business people and families with kids. There are lots of vintage aircraft in the yard to look it and walk outside and view. We ordered a carrot cake for dessert….. Was a little dry, and cold, like it had been sitting in fridge too long and dried out. Nice presentation though.

We gave it a 8 out of 10

The Proud Bird. 11022 Aviation Blvd. Los Angeles, Ca. 90045

We took a group of 12 to some late evening BBQ. Everyone wanted to see this place, as it is the site of some scenes from the 1984 TopGun movie. We ordered a variety of BBQ ribs, chicken, sausage, brisket, fries, onion rings, potato salad, Cole slaw, Mac and cheese, baked beans, collection of beers, and finished it off with sweet potato pie and walnut pie. Everything was delicious. There was a lot of finger licking and good harmony. The decor was fun to view and read the history of this place. There is no parking so plan ahead where to park or take public transit. From a true BBQ perspective, the food needed a little more smokey flavor.
